How to insert a URL into a Youtube comment

I was watching this excellent YouTube video by Potholer54:
And I noticed in passing a URL reference posted in a comment. I recently was frustrated at not being able to provide a reference in a comment, and was happy to notice this hack.
The trick:
Use (dot)com instead of .com
