I've always found it difficult to determine which charities are worthy of my gifts. This looks like a winner!

The 80/10/10 Diet by Dr. Douglas N. Graham is a well-written easy-to-understand explanation of Dr. Graham's 80/10/10 or 811 Diet. Included are recipes and diet plans. This is NOT a "go on a diet" program, but a permanent lifestyle adjustment.

I recently finished The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham. First published in 1944, it unfolds the lives of several interesting characters.  There was a movie made of it starring Bill Murray, but I have not yet seen it.

The key character of the book is Larry and the key chapter is a retelling of his trip to India in his search for the meaning of life. He starts this key chapter with this quote:

I watched a couple of movies on DVD recently. Here are my reviews

1. Dangerous Game.  While Harvey Keitel and Madonna gave pretty decent performances the script was so dark and the ending so ambiguous I was very disappointed.
2. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. This is a story of a man who had a massive stroke in the prime of life and wrote a book dictating by blinking with one eye. Very poignant and if you have the stomach for tragedy, this may be worth watching.
